The Discovery festival is an exciting, annual event which commenced in 1969 when a group of local residents, performed the first re-enactment of the landing of Captain Cook on the banks of the Endeavour River. Today, the re-enactment is probably more famous than the original landing!

The Cairns Tennis International is being held in Cairns, Australia on September 4 – 12, 2010. Part of the Pro Tour Series, the Tournament attracts prize money of US $15,000 for the Men’s competition and US $25,000 for the Women’s competition.
